MEMBERSHIPS: Annual memberships must be renewed by your anniversary date each year. Life memberships are a great way to give back to the Post and continue the VFW mission. The price is based on your age and can be paid in a lump sum or a payment plan. Legacy Life memberships are membership levels that continue to provide legacy payments to the Post and Department in the form of an endowment even after our passing so we continue to help the Veterans of tomorrow.

AUXILIARY: Family members of VFW eligible Veterans can get involved by joining our Auxiliary. They also meet 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7pm and they are always welcoming new members. Family members as young at 16 may join.

SOCIAL MEDIA: We are on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/vfwpost4709) and Instagram so please like and share our pages! This is a very important tool to help keep our members, our Auxiliary, and our community informed about everything going on at the Post. We ask that you are always courteous and professional while on our social media pages. If you ever notice anything disparaging, please notify Marcey Phillips-Commander, Jay Alexander-Quartermaster, Kelly Glass-Trustee, or Doug Burrell, House Committee immediately. CLAIMS/BENEFITS: If you have questions regarding claims or VA benefits you can contact the Montgomery County Veterans Service Officers at 936-539-7842 or Tracy Jordan with the Texas Veterans Commission at the Conroe Outpatient Clinic 936-522-4000. If you need to request your medical records you can visit vetrecs.archives.gov or print form SF-180 and follow directions on the form to mail it in to get your records. VFW Post 4709 Service Officer, Luke Solorzano, is wealth of information and can also be of assistance in preparing for your claim (VFW Post Service Officers are not allowed to file your claim). Luke can be reached by phone at 346-814-6621 or via email at luke.solorzano@legendhomelending.com.

VOLUNTEERS: We always appreciate when people lend a helping hand around the Post. If you are ever able to help out with anything or have a special skill you’re willing to share, please let us know. Thank you!

AMERICANISM/YOUTH: We are proud of our extensive community service, Americanism and Youth programs. These programs include the Patriot’s Pen 6th-8th grade scholarship, Voice of Democracy 9th-12th grade scholarship, Smart Maher Teacher of the Year, and the Veterans in the Classroom Programs for Kindergarten-12th grades. For more information, please email cdr@vfw4709.org.

RECRUITING: Membership retention and recruiting is an important part of VFW Post 4709 and the VFW as a whole. The VFW legislative team is able to go to Congress and fight for Veterans’ rights and benefits (such as the GI Bill, VA Compensation, VA healthcare, PACT Act, etc.) so there is strength in numbers. However, you aren’t just a number here! We recruit all eligible Veterans and we want to help add value to their lives.

TEXAS VFW FOUNDATION: The Texas VFW Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that helps provide financial assistance (grants) to Veterans in need. If you are in need you can visit texasvfwfoundation.smapply.org.

BINGO: BINGO isn’t just a game…it’s a charitable fundraiser for Veteran’s projects and our community. It is one of our biggest fundraisers and we use the funds to give back to charities in Montgomery County and throughout Texas. We have 5 BINGO sessions held Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 7pm, Friday at 10:30pm, and Sunday at 2pm. PULLTABS are a huge hit and we play paper BINGO (no computers). Please like and share our BINGO Facebook page @VFW4709BINGO and invite your friends to play!

VSWEEPS/SKILLS GAMES: Our Veteran’s Sweepstakes and Skills Games in the Canteen might look like video game machines but they are a sweepstakes that support the United States Veteran’s Service Dogs program that is funded by the Texas VFW. Ask your bartender how to play. You will see some service dogs around the Post. If you are interested in a service dog for yourself, please don’t hesitate to ask for more information.

CANTEEN: Our Canteen isn’t just a bar…it’s a private club where you can bring guests (please sign the guestbook) and enjoy camaraderie with your fellow VFW members in a smoke-free environment. Canteen annual memberships are now available to purchase for honorably discharged Veterans (non-VFW members) and first responders so please invite them to get their membership. Our first responders are huge supporters of the Post!

The manner in which you build the immersive storyline is professional in its execution.
